Favourite thing to do in science: Developing new technology
About Me: I'm a Research Officer based in the VistaMilk SFI research centre in Teagasc, Moorepark, Cork.
I’m grew up with my family in Roscommon, when I was 18 I moved to Dublin to complete my Bachelors degree in University College Dublin, then in 2016 I moved to Co. Cork to complete my doctoral degree. I still live in Cork with friends, sometimes m parents dog comes to stay with us for a “staycation”. My favourite pizza is papa johns, and my favourite tv programme is The Simpsons.
My Work: Technology can make farmers lives easier by shortening the length of times it takes a farmer to complete daily tasks. My job is to investigate the most useful technologies and also to develop some new tech for dairy farmers!
My Typical Day: I get up at 07:30 am for a walk before starting work at 09:00. I check my emails, and spend the rest of my day either at the desk analysing data or out in the field collecting data.
