As a medical scientist we are helping the understanding of this disease. We can test for presence of the virus using a system called PCR. For patients in hospital we then monitor how their body is coping. Look at their oxygen levels, see if they are developing clots, look at antibodies and proteins circulating. This is not necessarily working for a cure but with what we have learned, and share, treatments are getting better and more people are surviving.
