• Question: Hi Lara:) I know traffic lights help traffic but if their were too many would there be problems ?

      Hello Ava O’C,

      That’s actually a great question!!
      Traffic lights help the flow of traffic only if they are properly tuned.
      It’s not really a matter of number but location and timing.

      One thing that I can tell you is that a lot of research is done at the moment to find ways to remove them completely! One side of this research focuses on changing people behaviour at the intersections; the other covers the fact that if you have connected autonomous vehicles, they can talk with each other and coordinate without the traffic light.
