Question: What do you enjoy about being a geologist

I think one of the things I like about geology is that you can specialize in so many things. For me I specialized in geochemistry, so I get to go outside for fieldwork but also work in chemistry and computers. So it not boring! Other people do pure fieldwork so they do a lot of traveling around the world, other people work with more physics (think earthquakes).

It also was a science that wasn’t heavy on computers and maths, which when I was younger made it less intimidating!

Finally I think the study how the earth works and is made is genuinely interesting
