      It depends on your needs and preference. If you need to make a document, you may use Microsoft word, Excel, PDF, etc. If you want to perform computations, then you might consider Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, Python and others. If you want to work with microcontrollers, you will have to look for one supporting your microcontroller.
