      Hi Rory,
      Yes, my device would tell farmers what is the level of its fertility and if it need to add fertilizer soon. It can tell the amount of water level in the soil. It may indirectly tell if there are undesirables in the soil but it is complex and not straightforward thing.

      You can buy, in fact, electronic board like Arduino yourself and build a simple soil sensor circuit and programme the circuit. You can read the following blog for more details:
