From my understanding, although I am not a health expert, it appears that COVID-19 is a virus that originally came from animals who were sick with the disease. In China someone interacted with one of these sick animals and got themselves sick with COVID-19. COVID-19 is very contagious therefore once one person got sick it started spreading throughout China and eventually the world.

My understanding is it came from a Chinese live market where an animal was the carrier and it transferred to a human host and spread from there – we need to learn how to treat animals ethically and drastically change our approach to how animals are viewed in this world.
