      Hi,

This is very complex and to understand this phenomenon fully I was studying 5 years 😛 But to make it short and simple: neurons are very special cells in our body because of their ability of communications. After some stimulus (electrical, chemical or mechanical), if the stimulus was powerful enough, it will lead to depolarization of the neuron membrane. This way the signal is travelling throw the neuron (thanks to ions like Na and K exchange throw the membrane) and can be passed to the next cell and the next one and so on and so on. Also, if they have a coat around them, called myelin, the signal can be passed faster.
