      That’s an interesting question! I didn’t know the exact date myself, but after doing some research it appears the last time probably anyone saw a live dodo was 1688, and it was probably extinct by about the year 1700.

      The dodo is famous because it was a species that was clearly made extinct by the actions of humans. Humans hunted these large birds, which was easy since they could not fly and were not scared of people since they were not used to them. A bigger problem may have the animals that people bring with them such as pigs which would have ate their eggs.
