• Question: If your brain is always growing new dendrites and making new neural networks, does that mean your brain is getting bigger?

      Like every organ, brain size is finely regulated and (outside pathologic situations) it won’t became too big for your skull.

      As you see the head of the baby is small, this means his/her brain is small. Then, when the baby grows his head and thus brain gets bigger similar to other parts (like your hand gets bigger!).
      However, at a certain age, our brain starts to shrink in volume (get smaller again) but the skull maintains is shape when we become old.
