• Question: What is the best country to work at science in?

      Hi,
      it really depends on your specialization or field in which you want to work with, I would suggest to focus better on the different research groups instead of the specific country.

      Different areas of the world are better at different types of research and have different research priorities!

      For example if you are interested in space programs the USA is the leader.
      For environmental sciences the EU is a leader.
      In my field of geology one sub-field deal with mineral resources. In Europe the leader for that is Ireland and in the world it would be places like Canada, USA, Australia, Russia, China (big countries with lots of resources).
