I have never found a geode in Ireland but I would imagine you could find some with quartz or calcite crystals in Ireland. To make a geode you need to open up a cavity in the rock for crystals to grow. We have a lot of limestone here, which can dissolve leaving holes. So my guess is in some places they could eventually make geodes!
