      Simple answer: it is a very exciting job. You get to solve problems that no one ever solved before, and when you manage to do that, what an amazing feeling! Completely worth all the effort, even though it is quite challenging. It’s never truly boring (you do have boring tasks sometimes), and you get to meet amazing people with similar science interests from around the world.
